Install on your phone

FieldLabel works in any mobile browser, but if you’re scanning labels and updating jobs in the field all day, install it on your phone. Installing puts a FieldLabel icon on your home screen and opens the app full-screen, without browser toolbars — one tap and you’re scanning. It’s the same app with the same account and data; nothing new to download from an app store.

Apple doesn’t show an automatic install button, so you add FieldLabel from the browser’s Share menu.

  1. Open FieldLabel in Safari (or Chrome) and sign in.

  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up. In Safari it’s in the toolbar; in Chrome it’s at the right end of the address bar.

  3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.

  4. Tap Add. The FieldLabel icon appears on your home screen — open it from there from now on.

On Android, Chrome supports installing directly, and there are two ways to do it.

  1. Open FieldLabel in Chrome and sign in.

  2. After you’ve visited a few pages, an Install FieldLabel banner appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap Install and confirm.

  3. No banner? Tap the menu in the top-right corner of Chrome, then tap Add to Home screen (labelled Install app on some versions), and confirm.

Either way, the FieldLabel icon lands on your home screen and the app opens full-screen.

The in-app banner is just a shortcut to the steps above — you can always install from the browser menu instead.

  • It appears after you’ve viewed a few pages while signed in, so it won’t interrupt your first visit.
  • Not Now (or Got it on iPhone) hides it for a week.
  • The X dismisses it permanently — it won’t come back on that device.

Once installed, open FieldLabel from the home-screen icon and you’re right back at your dashboard, with Scan QR one tap away.
